Jeff Boyd was named the executive director of the Curry School of Education Foundation in January 2014. Boyd joined the Curry School Foundation as director of development in the summer of 2012. Before joining the Curry School Foundation team, Boyd was a senior associate director in the University of Virginia’s central development office.
In his role as executive director, Boyd has played a central role in the development of the Jefferson Education Accelerator, working with the Curry School dean, the University of Virginia Board of Visitors, the University’s offices of the General Counsel and Provost, as well as the Curry School of Education Foundation board.
Before joining the U.Va. development community, Boyd lived in Chicago for twelve years. While there, Boyd served as a central major gifts fundraiser at Northwestern University. Prior to his time at Northwestern, he spent several years in sports and event marketing.
A native of High Point, North Carolina, Boyd is a 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce where he studied finance and marketing. Among a variety of other activities, Boyd played on the football team during his tenure as a student at U.Va.
Boyd lives in Charlottesville with his wife and two sons. He enjoys coaching, index futures trading, cooking, weightlifting and travel.
